TERIYAKI SAUCE RECIPE

▢1 cup water ▢¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce or tamari sauce ▢2 tablespoons honey ▢1 tablespoon pineapple juice optional ▢⅓ cup packed light brown sugar ▢1 teaspoon minced garlic ▢¼ teaspoon ground ginger ▢2 tablespoons cornstarch ▢⅓ cup cold water

Ingredients

Step - 1

In a medium saucepan, combine water, soy sauce, honey, pineapple juice, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger over medium heat.

Combine water and cornstarch with a whisk to create a slurry; stir until the cornstarch dissolves. Include in the marinade.

Step - 2

Cook, stirring intermittently, until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. To thin the sauce if it becomes excessively viscous, add additional water.

Step - 3

To prepare with chicken, combine the cooked chicken and sauce in a skillet and cook for approximately 5 minutes, or until the poultry is thoroughly coated. Alongside rice, noodles, and/or steamed vegetables, serve.

Step - 4
